River Cutting Board
Please note: we recommend allowing this project to cure for at least 24 hours before moving.
This small but useful version of the river table is a fun way add dimension and color to your space. The color and dimensions of each raw cutting board will vary slightly. We will cut the boards in advance, so that you can add a section for the “river” to run right through it. Each participant will learn how to block off the edges, creating damns to secure the resin during curing time. After that, you will identify and mix up the color of your riverbed, doing at least 2 resin pours to reach the top. While we are showcasing a blue in our examples here, the resin section can be any color you want – green, purple, red, orange, yellow, pink etc.
This project is part art, part science and part math, and to us, it’s just plain fun! No two pieces will look alike. Your river cutting board will be fun to look at and talk about for years to come!
An art apron, gloves and all other supplies are included to create a beautiful work of art. As always, wear your favorite clothing to paint in! Until further notice, all participants must wear masks for the duration of the class for the protection of each other. Disposable masks will be available on site for $5 each.
We might choose to use a small craft paint brush in this project to clean up the edges, but no straight lines will be drawn. 🙂
